Harris Faster than a Hurricane

|
As the hurricane comes up the Eastern US with rain and winds it doesnt have anything matching the speed Jerald Harris showed winning at Shenandoa Speedway Saturday afternoon. I did say afternoon as promoter Chris Lilly had to move the entire race event to start at 11:30 am to get all the classes in as many teams had traveled a long way race in some of the classes on the bill. After a quick warm up for all the classes, it was on the features and the VSS was fourth feature with raindrops around the track. Aaron Leach and Caleb Harris paced the field to green with Leach out first. Leach continued out front as Jerald Harris and Chris Humblet made their way quickly trying to chase down Leach as Matthew Leach made it to fourth. On lap ten it went all wrong for Aaron Leach as he headed to the infield to find out the right rear had a puncture as Harris now was out front and staying smooth with Humblet keeping him in his sights and Matthew Leach, Caleb Harris and Matt Mullins the top five. Laps go by quickly as Harris stayed strong as Humblet, M. Leach, C. Harris and Matt Mullins all still the top five. The checkered flag was waving as Jerald Harris was catching the back of the field, but it would not slow him down as he flashed under it with very threating skies. At the line it was Jerald Harris, Chris Humblet, Matthew Leach, Matt Mullins, Caleb Harris, John Smith, Daren Bolac, Chris Ware, Colton Clatterbuck and Aaron Leach. |
